Quick answer

## The short version

Treat reflected content as a second scene that must remain consistent with the first. Mirrors, water and polished surfaces can expose errors outside an otherwise convincing extension.

## A capture or editing plan

Find the reflecting surface and identify which visible objects should influence it. Compare the new background with the reflected view, including the direction and sharpness of boundaries. Check that a new object does not appear in only one version of the scene. When reflection geometry is complex, choose a different crop or a simpler design area instead of repeatedly generating incompatible reflections.

## When to change the approach

Do not use an invented reflection to imply that an unseen part of a property or product actually exists.

## Worked planning example

Planning example: A generated window appears beside a pond but no corresponding reflection is present. The missing relationship is a scene error even if the water texture looks natural on its own.

## If the first attempt fails

When the reflection looks plausible on its own, compare it with the object and lighting that should produce it. Check whether a new highlight or reflected structure has a corresponding source in the expanded scene. Small ripples do not excuse a mirrored person or building that was never present. Use a non-generative layout if the reflection is needed to document an actual place or condition.

## Before you finish

1. Identify the reflecting surface first.
2. Compare objects and their reflected counterparts.
3. Check the image's intended evidentiary use.
